Four-star point guard and Charlottesville native Chance Mallory announced his commitment to the Virginia men's basketball program.

Four-star point guard Chance Mallory says he hopes to make his college decision by the end of October and is in the midst of a run of official visits that will go a long way toward determining where he lands.

During his junior season at Saint Anne's-Belfield, Mallory averaged 26.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.7 steals per game as he led the Saints to the VISAA Division I state championship game. He also became the program's all-time leading scorer.

Mallory became the first member of the program’s 2025 class. He will join a point guard corps that, on its present track, will include sophomore Elijah Gertrude, redshirt freshman Christian Bliss and sophomore Dai Dai Ames, a Kansas State transfer.
